When The Lights Go On Again
When The Lights Go On Again
This fantastic original show from the pen of Roy Sault tells the story of family life in England during the war years, culminating in a VE / VJ day party. The audience are invited to sing along with any, or all, of the songs in the show and they will laugh and cry as they join the family on their way through some difficult times and some fun times. It is a very clever observation on the humour that saw the nation through those dark years: school concerts, rationing, the Saturday Night Dance, ARP Wardens, air raids, queues, spam, all get a look in. Then of course there's the Camp Concert complete with Sergeant Major and his motley crew.

Featuring some of the best known and popular songs of the period including The White Cliffs Of Dover, We`ll Meet Again, Kiss Me Goodnight Sergeant Major, There`ll Always Be An England and of course “When The Lights Go On Again” the show ends with a rousing and up-lifting chorus of Rule Britannia and Land Of Hope And Glory.
