Help us to restore an iconic venue in a magnificent green space
Originally built in 1921, refurbished and extended in 1982, the Lowther Pavilion is now ready for development to make it fit for the next 100 years. Imagine a building where the Pavilion and the Gardens live in harmony with each other, where people can meet for a coffee while they explore what’s on, where world class artists feel as much at home as local community groups.
Financial support isn’t the only way that you can help the Lowther Pavilion; perhaps you could give some time to help around the building or even join our active Friends of Lowther Pavilion group.
How can you donate?
Our old seats have been refitted with a state of the art seating system; this new seating system gives us greater flexibility in how the space is used, allowing an event to be held on a flat floor in the afternoon and turned into a theatre with fixed seating in the evening.
Each seat can be sponsored for a donation of £200 and your contribution will be acknowledged by a plaque on the seat for a period of ten years. If every seat in the theatre is sponsored, it will raise a further £90,000 towards the appeal. We already have over a hundred seats sponsored.
The community has always been at the heart of the Lowther Pavilion and the new look building will enshrine that ownership and commitment by having a Band of Names etched into the fabric of the building, completely encircling it and keeping it safe. Will you be among the first 500 individuals, community groups, companies, schools, church or social groups to raise £1000 and have your contribution permanently recognised on the Band of Names? It could be your name or perhaps the name of a loved one as a permanent memorial.
You can leave a gift to the Lowther in your will, whether that is a cash amount, a residuary share of your estate once family and friends have been cared for, or a specific gift. Whichever you choose, you’ll know that you have helped to ensure that future generations can enjoy the Lowther Gardens and Pavilion as much as the people who visit today.
Gift Aid – You give, The Government gives too!
As a registered charity we can claim back the basic rate of income tax you have paid on the amount of your donation so if you give £1000, we can claim an extra £250. If you’re a higher rate tax payer, you can also personally claim the difference between the basic rate and the higher rate. It all adds up!
