Fylde Coast Players – those silly people responsible for the “39 Steps” in 2017 are proud and crazy enough to present another scintillating spoof thriller to keep you on the edge of your seats and give you a good laugh at the same time!
Graham Greene’s novel and film of the same name has been brilliantly adapted for stage by Clive Francis.
Jim Wormwold, an under-employed vacuum cleaner salesman living in 1950’s Cuba is struggling to pay for his teenage daughter’s extravagant lifestyle so when the British Secret Service ask him to become their “Man in Havana” how can he refuse? The only trouble is he doesn’t have anything to report! So, to keep the secret service money coming in, he concocts fake reports from fictional sub-agents.
Only to discover that his stories are closer to the truth than he imagined. Uh oh!
We bring you, with expenses spared, the bustling streets and music of 1950’s Havana, bars and nightclubs, hotels and airplanes, nuns, dogs, policemen and spies, tangos and even a bar fight!
These are things a good night out at the theatre is made of!
Honestly, come and see the show – it just won’t be the same without you.
(Hawaiian shirts optional but appreciated)
