Our Work with Schools

We work with children, young people – from early years to further and higher education – educators and families.  We value collaboration and partnership with nurseries, schools, colleges and universities.  Lowther Pavilion Theatre’s offer for educational settings includes discounted tickets for selected shows; pre- or post- show workshops; creative workshops and presentations in schools; pupil involvement in Lowther’s themed festivals; education packs; HAF projects, Arts Award and a creative forum for teaching staff.  We have signed the Lancashire Skills Pledge and are committed to encouraging creative employment and training.

“We are proud to be part of your work and look forward to continuing to work together.” – Headteacher, Primary School, St Annes

Discounted tickets

We cannot offer deals on all shows, but when available, we offer £10 tickets for pupils, with each tenth ticket free for a teacher. This applies to our Christmas pantomime and selected shows which have a connection with younger audiences.

Workshops and Education packs

Certain companies, ie those performing Shakespeare, dance, or curriculum or story-based work, may run a workshop before or after the show and provide an education pack.  These will often be free.  Keep in touch for updates.

Creative workshops and presentations in schools:

Teaching staff are welcome to approach us about visiting their setting.

If you have an idea for a project, or would like our input into an event, let us know via the online form or email us.

Festivals

Each year, we hold several outdoor festivals; great for education settings running Forest School, allotments, herbalist courses, etc.  Lowther’s Garden Festival can provide opportunities for pupils to visit our lovely outdoor setting, take part in workshops, or display and share their work.

Creative forum for teaching staff

One meeting each term, with a chance to take part in workshops, talk with others and influence our plans.  Register your interest via the online form and we’ll be in touch.

HAF and Arts Award

We are a HAF provider for Fylde, running creative visual, digital and performance projects during Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays.

We are also an Arts Award Centre and have Arts Award Advisors working here. Further details on both are in the projects section under Get Involved.
