Following the enormous success of our community marquee for the coronation celebrations we are pleased to announce that we will be leaving our community marquee (“The Tent”) up in our gardens from 22 July to the 28 August.
In it, we will host a range of daytime and early evening activities with something for everyone. From Jazz on the grass to brass band concerts, world food evenings to wine and gin tasting. During the daytime we will have children’s play days, our Summer Film School, Fylde Rangers workshops and now the call is going out to interested groups who would like to use out 100 seat marquee set in the beautiful grounds of Lowther Gardens for community activities.
Do you run a book club, a knitting group, flower arranging, choir, musical group or a community project who would like to relocate for an afternoon or an evening into our marquee in the gardens? There will be no hire charges made to use the facility and we can offer a bar, food or just tea, coffee and ice cream if you are wanting added extras.
Tim Lince, Lowther’s CEO/Artistic Director, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with your community groups at Lowther. There is nothing better that being outdoors during the summer and with this marquee there is no reason to cancel the event even if the British weather takes a turn for the worse. We are hoping to engage with all the community and also provide some interesting artistic events for you to attend.”
