Each Tuesday afternoon during July/August, Lowther's Cinema will be showing a different family friendly film. Children and young people will spend the morning working with arts specialists in a fun creative workshop connected with the film. After lunch, everyone will watch a public viewing of the film.
Dates: Tuesday 29 July, 5, 12, 19, 26 August 2025
Times: 10am-3pm
Cost: £12 per child. This includes the workshop and one film ticket.
Please bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks/water bottle.
Please wear practical clothing and shoes, suitable for physical / making activities.
PLEASE NOTE - films may run a little over 3pm. If your child needs to leave early from the film, please let us know. The films are all either rated U or PG
Tuesday 29 July: Tangled.
Story: Rapunzel, an innocent, young girl, is locked up by her overly protective mother. Her wish to escape into the world outside finally comes true when she meets the good-hearted thief, Flynn.
Tuesday 5 August: Smurfs - The Lost Village
Story: Smurfette and her friends go to the Forbidden Forest to find a lost village. When the evil wizard Gargamel gets to know of this, he devises a plan to stop the smurfs from discovering the town.
Tuesday 12 August: The Peanuts Movie
Story: Charlie falls for a red-haired girl, who moves into his neighbourhood, and tries to woo her. Meanwhile, his best friend Snoopy, with the help of his team, sets out to pursue his arch-rival, Red Baron.
Tuesday 19 August: The Little Mermaid
Story: The youngest of King Triton's daughters, Ariel is a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Longing to find out more about the world beyond the sea, Ariel visits the surface and falls for Prince Eric. Following her heart, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to experience life on land.
Tuesday 26 August: Epic Tails
Story: 'Epic Tails' tells the story of super smart mouse Pattie and her feline friend Sam, as they embark upon an exciting adventure of paw-some proportions through Ancient Greece.
