The Lowther Pavilion to receive £250,000 towards new Education Centre & Studio Theatre

The Lowther Pavilion Theatre & Gardens are pleased to announce that Fylde Council have approved a one-off capitol grant of £250,000 towards the internal refit of their new Education Centre and Studio Theatre.

News of this grant from Fylde Council brings the venue’s new 150 seat space one-step closer to completion, with fundraising ongoing to raise the final £300k to complete this first phase of the redevelopment. Once complete, this new, second venue will have seen an incredible, total investment of around £3 million.

Tim Lince, CEO/Artistic Director at Lowther, said: “The entire team at Lowther are immensely proud and excited to be delivering this brand-new facility to the region.”

The £250,000 grant, fully funded from the Capital Investment Reserve.

Fylde Council are one of the partner organisations approached by the charity for support in securing funds for the internal refit. This will allow the refit to commence immediately after the external works, avoiding additional expense and securing the current work quote, while helping the trust towards their objective of becoming self-sufficient.

The new Education Centre & Studio Theatre is due to open from April 2025, with a series of test events being run from January 2025.

In the lead up to the opening in April 2025, the Lowther Pavilion Theatre & Gardens will be holding a celebration reception for those people who have supported in funding the development thus far on Monday 15th July at 6.30pm. Alongside this, the venue will be running a creatives evening (17th June 7 pm )  which invites creatives from across Lancashire and the Fylde Coast to come along and discuss how they can use the Education Centre & Studio Theatre as part of their practice, and how it can help them develop their work.

“We believe that by becoming a seed venue and building our new Education Centre & Studio Theatre, we’re able to provide a culturally important space for the future of community arts on the Fylde Coast.”

People wanting to donate and help the Lowther Pavilion Theatre & Gardens raise the final £300k for this new space, can do so by sponsoring seat, joining the Band of Names scheme, or just by making a one-off donation.
