Work commences on Lowther’s re-development plans with Michael Portillo and theatre Trustees

Ahead of his two sold out performances, Michael Portillo, broadcaster and former politician, visited our theatre to put the spade in the soil. His visit marks the start of the construction work for our brand new 150-seat Community, Education and Studio space.

Tim Lince, our CEO / Artistic Director, said:

“We are incredibly excited to not only welcome Michael back to the venue, but also honoured to have him involved in the commencement of this vital work in Lowther’s future.”

The Studio space is the first of three phases in our exciting and ambitious re-development campaign, which will see a £5 million investment into the venues and gardens to ensure the theatre can remain at the heart of the Fylde community for generations to come.
