Woofers comedy club is back! Featuring some of the best comedic talents in live comedy right on your doorstep here on the Fylde Coast. Hosted by our very own regular MC Phil Walker, you are pretty much guaranteed a great night of side-splitting fun!
Headlining this month we welcome the surreal Canadian genius that is Mr Tony Law!
Canadian surrealist and master story-teller Tony Law is a three-time Chortle Award winner, Amused Moose Best Show winner and Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee. Joining Tony & Phil are:
John is a comedian with 20 years’ experience in the industry. He is the winner of the Spike Milligan Award for New Talent and is also the recipient of the biggest cash prize ever awarded a comedian at the Edinburgh Festival when he won £12’000 in the Take The Mic competition. John has worked all over the world and has travelled to the Far East, The Middle East, Australia and much of Europe to entertain people. Over his career he has provided warm up duties for such notable names as Stewart Lee, Frankie Boyle, Stewart Francis, Jerry Sadowitz, Tom Stade, Reginald D. Hunter and many more.
As well as working as a regular on the comedy circuit John has extensive experience on the after-dinner scene and has worked alongside many sporting legends such as Jack Charlton, Pete Shilton, Sean Fitzpatrick and Paul Gascoigne. As a writer John has also worked for BBC Radio 4, BBC Newcastle, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Scotland, The Live Theatre Newcastle and several notable comedians.
Pete Phillipson
Originally from Lincolnshire, Manchester based Pete has been building a name for himself on the circuit as a fantastically funny act over the last few years, mixing fast paced observations and routines with wonderful characterisations.
Pete is able to command an audience as well as he commands a variety of accents, wearing his comedy heart on his sleeve and leaving the audience in hysterics at his misfortunes and frustrations with the minutiae of everyday life.
Pete performs at some of the biggest comedy clubs in the country including The Stand, Glee, Jongleurs, Baby Blue, Hilarity Bites, Off the Rails, The Last Laugh, and The Frog and Bucket. Also breaking into the London scene, Pete performs for Off the Kerb, The Comedy Store, The Funny Side, and Lee Hurst’s Backyard Bar.
Off stage, you can listen to Pete on Fab Radio International where he performs the weekly radio show “Bad Nostalgia” with fellow comedian Lewis Charlesworth.
